Industrial Programs

For over 28 years, Crescent City Physical Therapy has served the New Orleans region as a leader in the initiation of industrial/occupational programs with regional and national companies. CCPT was the first in New Orleans to begin functional capacity evaluations and to promote industrial back schools in l985 followed by work with companies to meet ADA requirements through functional job descriptions, reasonable accommodations and post-offer screening in 1991.

The CCPT Industrial and Ergonomics programs are under the direction of Virginia Davis, PT, MA and Arthur Kirsch, MPT, OCS. The variety of programs offered are designed to meet the needs of individual business clients and the variety of referral sources for services: industry (management, human resources, safety), rehabilitation specialists, insurance companies, physicians, and attorneys.

CCPT services several large oil service companies (on and offshore) as well as large food, meat packing, trucking and beverage production and delivery companies. CCPT understands the broad spectrum of the industrial rehabilitation process from wellness, post-offer screening and injury prevention, through injury rehabilitation, return to work, functional capacity evaluation and case resolution. CCPT understands the general needs of employers and takes pride in the assessment of the specific needs of each of its clients and their employees to improve workplace ergonomics and to reduce workplace repetitive injuries.

CCPT’s unique and comprehensive injury prevention and industrial rehabilitation programs have successfully improved the bottom line of area employers. CCPT partners with employers to design, rein in and control their workers’ compensation related costs utilizing ADA and EEOC compliant protocols. Companies generally report savings of 40 – 70% within the first year of program implementation. A strong component of this savings is related to Employment Testing Programs and to Workplace Ergonomics.

The focus of all CCPT industrial programs is on safety, education and prevention; however, should an injury occur, the objective is always the rapid return of the injured worker to productive employment.
