The 2 Most Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Do I need a doctor's referral for Physical Therapy?
In Louisiana, a Physical Therapist may Evaluate a patient without a referral from a physician; however, a physician's diagnosis is required prior to the initiation of physical therapy treatment. If you have an acute or persistent musculoskeletal pain or problem that is limiting your daily routine, it is probably a good idea to see your physician to rule out any underlying medical pathology - then you may benefit from a Physical Therapy Evaluation to determine along with the Physical Therapist how PT may help you.
2. Will my health insurance pay for my physical therapy?
The best person(s) to answer this question are our Front Desk personnel. Please call our office: (504) 895-0638. You will provide CCPT with your referral and insurance information and we will do the rest. We will call to verify your insurance status and benefits and seek approvals necessary for our services, and then follow up with you regarding your deductible and co-payment responsibilities.
REMEMBER: YOU HAVE A CHOICE OF PHYSICAL THERAPY PROVIDER AND YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE TREATED BY THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST OF YOUR CHOICE.
